Web Design

Class Description

This class is designed to prepare the student to create web sites through a solid  introduction to basic HTML. Emphasis will be on learning the essential tools to constructing effective and appealing pages, integrating graphics, and understanding (HTML, XHTML) hypertext markup languages.

Students will move from an introduction to basic HTML tags to the implementation of CSS and javascript elements.  Structured on a framework of three essential projects, the course provides experience with the construction of web pages through HTML, and fosters practice and familiarity with the design process.

This is a student-centered, project oriented course, with hands-on experience emphasized on a daily basis.  The class is designed so that all work is completed in class, and as a fundamentals class, no prerequisite courses or knowledge is required.
