Concert Band

Concert Band

This is an intermediate Concert level performance ensemble open to the all students in grades 9-12.

 

Emphasis is placed on the developing good tone quality, technique, style, music theory, music vocabulary and ensemble blend and balance.

 

Music performed by this ensemble is of the grade 2-3 levels of performance.


Concerts include:  Fall, Winter, Area Concert, Pre-Festival, Music Festivals at local High School or College venues, Spring Concert and Graduation ceremonies.

 

Some additional after school rehearsals might be required.  Students are required to practice a minimum of 3 days per week.

 

Grading consists of Musical Knowledge of concert literature and Performances

  • Musical—April (not required)

  • Solo Ensemble Festival—May/June

Mr. David Weinberg has been at ANHS for Five years.  In that time the concert groups have received unanimous superiors, marching band has had undefeated seasons with multiple championship wins, a competitive and high placing winter drum line and winter color guards (JV and Varsity) and a high quality Jazz Band program.
