New Principal Appointments

Capistrano Unified School District Appoints New Principals

 

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA – The Capistrano Unified School District Board of Trustees has approved the appointments of nine principals, continuing summer recruitment for open positions.

 

Capistrano Unified School District recently appointed Andrea Meissner as principal of R.H. Dana Exceptional Needs Facility (ENF) Elementary School, Beth Ewing as principal of Laguna Niguel Elementary School, and Ken Ezratty as principal of Tesoro High School. Meissner, Ewing and Ezratty have extensive administrative experience and exemplify strong and effective leadership skills in problem-solving and supporting student needs.

 

Capistrano Unified is also announcing several school administrators within the district have moved to new school sites for the 2018-19 school year:

  • Pam Sawyer to principal of Marco Forster Middle School;
  • Carrie Bertini to principal of San Juan Elementary School;
  • Sandi Miller to principal of Hidden Hills Elementary;
  • Kristen Nelson to principal of R.H. Dana Elementary;
  • Michelle Moore to principal of Ladera Ranch Elementary; and
  • Maria Christina Barrosa from assistant principal to principal of Las Palmas Elementary

“We take pride in investing in our employees and developing exceptional leaders, which is why we encourage qualified staff to seek available leadership positions,” said Martha McNicholas, Capistrano Unified School District Board of Trustees President. “We are looking forward to a great 2018-19 school year for our students, families, and staff.”

 

Capistrano Unified identified exceptional candidates for teacher vacancies for the 2018-19 school year. During the 2017-18 school year, the district held recruitments for ten elementary teacher positions, eighteen secondary teacher positions, and seven itinerant staff positions. Over 2,000 applications were received, and 130 new teachers hired by June 30, 2018.

 

All principal appointments are approved by the Capistrano Unified School District’s Board of Trustees.
