Equal Access and Opportunities for All Students

The Board of Trustees desires to provide a safe school environment that allows all students equal access and opportunities in the district’s academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities.  The Board prohibits, at any District school or school activity, unlawful discrimination, including discriminatory harassment, intimidation, and bullying of any student based on the student’s actual or perceived race, color, ancestry, national origin, nationality, ethnicity, ethnic group identification, age, religion, marital or parental status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or gender expression or association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics.

Awards and Recognition

New American High School

In the year 2000, Aliso Niguel High School was one of only 100 schools selected in the United States
as a New American High School.
The New American High Schools Initiative is focused on high schools that are committed to ensuring that all students meet challenging academic standards and are prepared for college and careers. These high schools are using new instructional techniques, utilizing technology, improving professional development, using community service and work-based experiences to enhance classroom learning and developing partnerships with employers, postsecondary institutions, community leaders and parents to enhance reform efforts. These schools are also engaged in an ongoing, thoughtful dialogue with their staff and the broader community to determine how they can better prepare students for college and careers.

California Distinguished School

The California School Recognition Program, begun in 1985 by the California Department of Education (CDE), honors elementary and secondary schools in alternating years. It recognizes schools that are successfully implementing the priorities of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education.Schools that apply undergo a comprehensive self assessment that involves the entire school community, including teachers, parents and students, and community and business leaders. Blue Ribbon School

LogoBR.jpg Created by the United States Secretary of Education in 1982, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has honored America's outstanding public and private schools, and encourages other schools and communities to look to them for ideas and inspiration.   Awarded to Aliso Niguel in 2000.
